Green Business Index was founded under the patronage of the Romanian Ministry of Environment and Forests. Green Business Index grants annually: seven First awards for each category, the great GBI prize and awards of Excellency. The categories of evaluation in 2010 are:

  1. Sustainable Development
  2. Impact on the Environment

  4. Use of Resources
  5. Buildings Condition
  6. Green Procurement

The great GBI prize will be granted to the company which has demonstrated, during the previous year, that holds the capacity, the will and the resources to transform its own activity into a „Green Business“.

The costs necessary for the achievement of GBI and of Green Gala event are covered from sponsorships and donations. Registration of the companies in GBI is free and represents the free will of each of the companies.

The GBI results are presented annually, within the Green Gala event.
